Week 15: Friday: The real challenge

We passed the robot challenge but now we face certification. Next week everyone in the class is going to take a test to try and get certified on certain programs. So mostly everyone has done the challenge and now focusing on the test.

Week 15: Monday: The week

This is the week of our challenge. Tomorrow is the dead line for the challenge and we have finally made the robot work somewhat properly. Basically today we are just fixing minor flaws but other than that we are ready

Week 14: Friday: Rush Hour 2

Well we are still coding our robot and a little behind most of the groups. Next week is when our robot challenge is due and it is organized by a certain time frame in which a group will do their challenge. So as of right now we are having a hard time getting our robot to work.

Week 14: Monday: Rush Hour

The stress is on. This week our teacher told us that we have a challenge and its going to be due Tuesday and that we have to study for our certification test in two or three weeks. We now have to make our robot run autonomous for 30 seconds and also fixing some things. We are really going to be stressed and pushed this week.

Week 13: Monday: Short Week

This week is a short week of Monday and Tuesday. All we are doing this week is working on GMetrix and trying to get better on the software we are going to take a test on.

Week 12: Friday: Cooldown

It has been a long weeeeek. We finished our challenge with an OK grade and now resting because thanksgiving break is next week. So all we are doing right now is GMetrix studying for our certification.

Week 12: Monday: The week!

This is the week everyone in class has to do the challenge. Our team is moving super fast, fixing every little thing we think that harms the robot. The challenge officially starts Wednesday so we are preparing for the good grade we plan on getting.

week 11: Thursday: Going off

This week has been a lazy week to be honest, but today we are picking up speed and working hard. We have no school tomorrow because it is veterans day so we have long weekend. Also the assignment that was issued out about a week ago is due next week, so we are working hard.

Week 11: Monday: Lazy week

This week we had a couple of days off so we haven't been able to much to advance our robot. So we have been basically been doing GMetrix this whole week to get ready for our Midterms for the class. As of right now we are working on our bot to improve it.

Week 10: Friday: The start

This week everyone in the class is working hard on their robot. We are all trying to make sure that the same thing from the last challenge doesn't happen to the one in two weeks, which was that we were cramming to fix our robot until the last days

Week 10: Monday: New Day

Today starts off a new quarter!! Also today our teacher presented us with a new challenge and it will be due November 16. As of right now we are finding a way to make our robot more stronger and faster so that we can get a better grade than in the last challenge.

Week 9: Friday: It's over

So the quarter is finished! We managed to survive the first quarter with flying colors and submit our solidworks views but it was a few days late so it wasn't a 100%. Also today is a early release so it has been a pretty good week.

Week 9: Monday: The Rush for Grades

We are a little late with our Solid Works and our practice competition. This is not okay. On the plus side, we have managed to go through three different robot versions. Third time is the charm! Our goals for this week will be to get The Menace out on the field.  Our code for our robot works perfectly and is completed. The Solid Works drawings of our robot have been finished and executed meticulously. As first quarter ends, the pressure and stress pile on, and as a team we need to stay calm and focused, even if we are looking like we are not going to make it. I have seen my team mates have begun to get anxious. We will consider the use of rubber-bands for our robot and changing our gearing for our drive train. We are set on high gear and need to finish everything before the deadline. Below is the rendering of where we decided to place our cortex and battery;

Week 8: Friday: Almost there

This week was a tough weeek! We started from scratch on Monday and today Friday we have everything but the coding. We have not done the challenge yet for the robot but most likely by the end of the day we might have finished the challenge hopefully.

Week 8: Wednesday: The Bane of Our Existence (Still Fun!)

We are super proud that we took on the challenge to do the Third version of our robot. Yes, we went through three trial and error versions. We have not even gotten to putting the robot into practice for the competition.  This took more than 30 hours to work on.  You can see the attention to most detail of the detail taken to draw this version. The metal was flexed to create a hinge like mechanism, a problem finally solved for our "end effector". You can see this clearly in the top view. Week 8: Monday: Restart

This week our prototype of the bot is due and my team disassembled the robot because there was something wrong with the old design. So today we are on a fast pace and wiring and designing it all over again as if was week 1 once again

Week 7: Friday:Due Over

My team has destroyed the old design completely causing us to come up with a new one. As of right now we are thinking of a new design and rebuilding our robot. 

Week 7: Monday: Working hard

This week we are playing no games at all!! Our teacher said that our robots prototype is due by next week on Wednesday and we haven't gotten our arm on the robot yet. So we have no time to waste cause if we do we might fail the assignment. 

Week 6: Friday: Hurricane

We had a hurricane coming towards Florida so we have no school for Thursday and Friday

Week 6: Monday: The Comeback

This week we are on the comeback!! We have our arm design built, motors running perfectly, and starting off a good week. Today we are just fixing a little flaws in our bot, but other than that we just have to attach the arm and program it to work. Also we are racing against the clock because our teacher told us we are going to dry run the competition next week or the following week.

Week 5: Friday: New Hope

This week was a life saver week!!! We got new parts and finally gt a great design for the arm of our robot. By the end of next week we are scheduled to be done with the arm and just getting ready for the competition.

Week 5: Monday: New Hope

This week we have gotten new parts for our robot and it is a total life saver. We now have enough materials to continue with the bot. Hopefully this new hope will save us and make our robot great. As of right now the team is speed building so we catch up to the other teams.

Week 4: Friday: Rush

This whole week we were working on the arm. We built one design then disassembled it because the design had flaws that we did not notice until we fully built it, so we decided to take it off. It took us a while to rethink another idea but we have it an plan to be using and building it next week.

Week 4: Monday: Rush

This week we are in a Rush! This is because lost our arm and found it disassembled, so we have to rebuild it and complete the arm once again. Our goal for this week to to finally be done building the arm of the mighty robot.
